Lantau Island

Lantau Island (literal translation: Ragged Head) was previously known as Tai Hai Shan, and is now home to the Tien Tan Buddha and the Po Lin Monastery. Getting to the island is easy, as there are regular buses from Hong Kong Island to Lantau. Though getting there would have been made much more fun if the cable cars were in operation. On the other side of the island is the Tai O fishing village. Food is probably as fresh as anyone can get, there were boats with live fishes and shellfishes docked at the port.

Here's a snapshot of things to be seen and done on the island.
